We recommend an in person consultation prior to getting pierced for all our younger clients.

This allows the client to meet their piercer, see the studio, see how the piercing is done anD ask any questions they may have about the process.

This then allows the client to feel more at ease at the time of their appointment.

We offer ear lobe piercing from 5yrs with parental consent.

A parent or legal guardian must be present at the appointment and give written consent.

Licensing and insurance require a valid photo ID for both the parent/ guardian and the child.

Where surnames do not match a full birth certificate is required.

Legal guardians or carers must provide proof of guardianship.

We are located inside Black Abbey, a private studio in Glasgow.

Both our piercers are DBS checked.

Sylwia is our dedicated children’s piercing specialist, with extensive training in safe, gentle techniques for young clients. She has attended several professional courses specifically focused on children’s ear piercing and has a calm, friendly manner that helps children feel at ease.

Fiona does not offer children’s ear piercing, but is available for tandem piercing for more nervous clients.

We have a selection of jewellery options available within the children’s ear lobe package.

We use a flat back styled jewellery for our piercing. This design s more comfortable for the wearer and is less prone to digging in the back of the head like traditional butterfly backed jewellery

All our jewellery is APP verified.

Jewellery for the initial piercing and the downsizing are included in the package price.

We understand how exciting (and sometimes scary) a child’s first, or even second lobe piercing can be. This is why it’s important that we are all on the same page when it comes to your child’s experience.

There will be no coercion. Getting their ears pierced is their choice, and forcing them to do something they're not ready for can be a traumatic experience for you, the piercer and most importantly, your child.

We encourage words of support, even when a child decides to back out. Rest assured, we do not consider this a “waste” of time. We are honored and privileged to help your child through this process, no matter what!

How we pierce children's lobes is the same as how we pierce any other piercing.

We use sterilised implant grade jewellery and sterilised single use needles and tools that are immediately thrown away.

Piercing guns, unlike needles, cannot be properly sterilised & reused, this puts our clients at risk of infection & cross contamination. This is a risk we are simply not willing to take.

We find that most people that get pierced with a high quality needle tend to experience less pain during and after the piercing.

Can we pierce both ears at the same time? YES!

Tandem ear piercing allows us to pierce both ears at the same time. This is great for clients who are nervous.

This service is available on a Tuesday and Thursday only by request. Please drop us an email.

There is no additional cost for this service with children’s piercing package.

A follow up is advised for all piercings. This allows us to check everything is going well during healing and to make sure the bar is at the right length.

a longer bar is put in at the piercing appointment to allow the piercing to swell and go through its initial healing process. After the swelling goes down, the bar is too long and we want to shorten it to avoid irritation.

A downsize appointment and both new pieces of jewellery are included in our children’s piercing package.

The new piercings should be cleaned twice daily with a sterile saline spray.

The piercing should be cleaned and dried afterwards.

Detailed aftercare information is provided and will be gone over verbally at the appointment.

Avoid submerging healing piercings in bodies of water , this means swimming pools, beaches, rivers etc for at least 4 -6 weeks!

Wet hair - make sure your childs hair is dried. Moisture can lead to bacteria build up and the dreaded moisture bump.

No turning, twisting or fiddling with the piercings. Movement causes irritation and dirty fingers can bring bacteria.
